In accordance with the Tenants Fee Act 2019 please note the following information relating to Tenancy Applications and Agreements:
Permitted payments
At time of application (payable to Michael Hart & Co Ltd ‘the Agent’)
Before the tenancy starts
- Deposit: Normally one month’s rent, but may be up to five weeks’ rent, less the £100 holding deposit paid at time of application.
During the tenancy (payable to the Agent)
- Payment of up to £50 if you want to change the tenancy agreement and the change is agreed by your landlord.
- Payment of interest for the late payment of rent at a rate of 3% above the Bank of England base rate for rent more than 14 days overdue.
- Payment for the reasonably incurred costs for the loss of keys/security devices.
- Payment of any unpaid rent or other reasonable costs associated with your early termination of the tenancy should the landlord agree to early termination.
During the tenancy (payable to the provider) if permitted and applicable
- Utilities – gas, electricity, water
- Communications – telephone and broadband
- Installation of cable/satellite
- Subscription to cable/satellite supplier
- Television licence
- Council Tax
Other permitted payments
- Any other permitted payments, not included above, under the relevant legislation including contractual damages.
